Any support for Aspie Dads?

I am really in the need to help my 13 year-old son out.

We are at a cusp in his success journey, but are experiencing self-defeating behaviors, and I would really LOVE for him to succeed.

He needs an environment where people will understand what’s behind his actions rather than treat his actions with punitive measures… Time outs, suspensions, detention, etc.

Are there any high schools in Ventura County that understand this condition that offer resources?

I am at my wits end.

HI, my daughter who is 11 has been diagnosed with high functioning Aspergers, she is entering middleschool and I am looking for any kind of support we can get. My daughter did have an IEP in gradeschool with a one on one paraeducator which was removed from her this new year. so it looks like we will be faceing new challenges. we can use all the info we can get.:)

I find your website in June and sent my daughter to the T.O. third saturday meeting in July. However we never checked again the info I gave her and she went to the T.O. library and there was one there. Did the meeting location change? Did anyone go to it?

This group has been so helpful to us. I don’t know what we would do without it. This is a safe haven where the kids can socialize, and their parents can help them.

Hi Andre. Yes the ASAP meeting in T.O. on Sat. Jul 16 from 3 to 5pm, is a social gathering. Hang out, make friends, play a board or card game. Enjoy the bookstore.
Hopefully you received an email from troy@vcasap.org that we changed the location to the Barnes & Noble in Thousand Oaks. We’ve just updated the Website and the calendar to reflect that. Also, we hope to offer the option of seeing the Harry Potter movie with other ASAP members afterwards at the Mann Theatre. Time to be announced.
