Friday,  Feb 24 — Pizza night — ASAP Meets at Proverbs Coffee House, 71 Loma Dr., Camarillo for fun, friendship and board games! 7PM to 9:15PM

It’s a leap year! So we’re doing something extra for this meeting to celebrate the extra day of the year! Everyone is invited to bring their handheld video games to play. Share your knowledge about the latest games, show off your fun video game device, and play video games with friends.

Don’t have a handheld player? There may be an extra one or two that members are willing to share. Plus we’ll have the usual board and card games.

And since it’s a pizza night, please bring a pizza to share. ASAP will provide the plates, napkins, a few liters of soda and cups.

Sunday, Jan. 29 — ASAP hike in Thousand Oaks at 1:30PM.

Andre Long, an experienced hiker and father of Christian, a young man with ASD. The weather is supposed to be good with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s.
Here are the the directions to the hiking location:

From Oxnard Plain, take Hueneme Rd., south.  At intersection where Hueneme becomes Lewis, turn right on West Potrero Rd.  Pass CSUCI.  After climbing a steep and winding grade and reaching a housing development on left, look on your right for park entrance.  If you reach Reino Rd. you have gone too far.

From areas South and East, take 101 north to Thousand Oaks.  Exit Lynn Road and go south over the freeway heading towards the Santa Monica Mountains.  Pass Wendy Dr.  After you pass Reino Rd., look for the park entrance on your left.  If you are heading down a steep and winding grade you have travelled too far.
After entering the park, drive down the hill.  When you can drive no further, park and meet next to the restrooms.  Be sure to bring water, sunscreen, cell phone and wear a hat.
Call Andre on his cell at 760-793-2826 if anyone is lost or delayed.

A map of the area can be found at http://www.nps.gov/samo/planyourvisit/upload/SAMOmap-2004.pdf
